A welcoming place to meet people, enjoy games and take your first steps into a hobby. The Lizards Lair in Crewe offers SEN-friendly activities and quieter session options for people with special educational needs and disabilities, and their families and carers.

Everyone’s needs are different. You are welcome to contact us before visiting to talk about the session, the environment and what would help you feel comfortable.

SEN Hatchling Coffee Mornings

Regular sessions: Mondays and Fridays at 10:30 am. A chance to meet, chat and enjoy a drink in a welcoming community setting. Contact the team to check the next session and whether it suits your family or circumstances.

You do not need to know a tabletop game to get involved. Ask us about the session format, who usually attends and any arrangements for children before your first visit.

Quiet Dungeons & Dragons

Our Quiet D&D sessions offer a quieter option for enjoying storytelling and teamwork. Contact us to confirm the next available session, suitable ages, start time and places. We can explain how the game works and what you should bring.

Session update: There is no Sunday D&D on 4 October 2026 due to staffing commitments. Please contact us about the next available Quiet D&D session.

Younger adventurers

Our Under 8s D&D is a very friendly teamwork game. It is a separate age-group session; please ask whether it is suitable for your child’s needs rather than assuming it has the same arrangements as Quiet D&D. Confirm availability, supervision and what to bring before attending.

What is the space like?

The Lair is a working shop with gaming, conversations and other activities taking place. All gaming is downstairs. Noise and activity levels vary, and a quieter session does not mean the whole shop will be silent.

Before attending, you can ask about the expected group size, session length, other activities happening at the same time and whether there is flexibility to take a break. We will explain what is possible for the particular session.

Plan a visit that works for you

Tell us what would be helpful, such as clear instructions, knowing the plan in advance or visiting at a less busy time. You only need to share information you are comfortable sharing. Please contact us to discuss physical access, toilets or other specific requirements so we can describe the current facilities accurately.

Children, families and carers

Contact us about the age range and supervision arrangements for each activity. Please do not assume that children can be dropped off or that a session provides individual care. Parents, carers and support workers can discuss attendance arrangements with the team beforehand.

Bookings and costs

Check with us whether the session needs booking and whether there is a charge. Some busy gaming sessions use free seat bookings; other activities may have different arrangements. Our booking hub covers ticketed games, but please ask before using a general booking for a SEN-friendly or quieter session.

Contact us before your first session
